01Robotic surface preparation

High-production UHP on large steel — for hire only.

Magnetic or vacuum crawlers carry rotary UHP heads across hull plate and tank shell on 55,000 psi pumps. Production is higher than a jetlance crew. Labor stays out of the primary jetting zone.

Where we work

Shops are on the Gulf Coast. We have worked from the south to the north, east to west, and regularly work internationally.

  • Shipyard and plant work where dust is not acceptable

What the system includes

  • 55,000 psi UHP pumps dedicated to robotic tools
  • Two robot types: magnetic or vacuum-adhered to the structure
  • Rotary UHP tools at production standoff
  • Vac box and vacuum hose for debris recovery
  • On-site SurfaceJet technicians. Customer-trained or SurfaceJet operators, depending on the project.

    Structure and spec

    Hull, tank, or industrial steel. Existing coating, cleanliness standard (WJ-1 through WJ-4), and access constraints.

  2. 02

    Robotic production plan

    Crawler paths, standoff, recovery, and the handheld work that remains at edges, appendages, and tight geometry.

  3. 03

    Operate and maintain

    SurfaceJet maintains the entire system. On some projects, trained customer operators drive the robots while SurfaceJet technicians monitor and service the system as required. On other projects, SurfaceJet drives and maintains the system.

  4. 04

    Handoff to coating

    Uniform cleanliness, chloride removal, and a contained waste stream so recoating can start on a known surface.

02Traditional UHP rental

Pumps, jetlances: dry shutoff guns for your crew.

When the work is handheld or your team is already on the job, SurfaceJet supplies the UHP spread. Units leave the shop inspected, serviced, and pressure-tested. Spare parts and consumables are consigned with the equipment.

Jetlances are dry shutoff guns. Releasing the trigger stops flow at the lance. There is no dump stream at the operator. Excess water dumps at the pump through the unloader, not at the gun.

03Training & certification

12- and 24-hour operator and technician courses covering hazards, equipment, production, maintenance, and troubleshooting, plus ST-17 Spider basket training. Certificate issued at 70% or higher on practical and written exams. Louisiana ITWP grant eligible.

Decades of surface-prep experience on waterjet systems, containment, and access. We help specify the method, size the spread, and keep the job moving with field technicians and spare packages.
